So I came across this article just moments ago, it is absolutely absurd.  It basically says  that due to the pollutants that livestock give off, farmers may have to pay a fine.  The system would require farms or ranches with more than 25 dairy cows, 50 beef cattle, or 200 hogs to pay an annual fee of about $175 for each dairy cow, $87.50 per head of beef cattle, and $20 for each hog.  You are talking about tens of thousands of dollars for some operations.

I completely understand that we should be concerned about the environment.  At some point, however, you have to stand up and say, “YOU ARE CRAZY!”  to certain environmental ideas.  If we we are to continue  down this path of levying a fee based upon flatulence, baked bean distributors are going to be in a world of hurt in a few years.  Just a thought.
