Good Deals
So some of the ladies at the church asked me to keep them up to date if I found any great deals on my quest to save money.
Here are a couple of things that I have recently come across that you may be interested in:
Target has a great page of coupons that you can print off online. If you go here, you can click on a link to download the coupons that expire September 5th. What I like the most about it is you don’t have to download any special software or anything like that.
Chick-fil-A has a new site that you can register at for the chance to get free coupons and get geared up for football season. The site is neat in that you can create your own cow look and get a chance at prizes like a free calendar or $50 worth of gift cards. My only problem is their website takes so long to load and I have little patience for that (it comes from being married to a guy that builds sites I am sure).
Last item of the night is the Disney Outlet. They are having a great “Last Call” sale on certain items.
That is all my great ideas for the evening. Good night.
A New House
Dan and I have been looking at houses recently. With interest rates low, the housing market down, and a tax credit guaranteed, it is a really great time to purchase a home.
We actually found one we loved and closed on it last Wednesday. It has three bedrooms and two baths, it is around 1,950 square feet. It was under foreclosure and only seventy percent complete so we are going to get to finish the inside how we want.
This past week we have been super busy picking out everything from flooring to paint to light fixtures. So many choices, I was shocked. Dan is positively giddy about the kitchen, it nice and big and will be finished with granite countertops. I am thrilled that the laundry room is big and I will be able to keep my sewing machine up all the time!
We feel truly blessed that everything has been going so well with the house this past week and are looking forward to how it will turnout!
Slack
I haven’t put anything on either blog lately. Sorry. I promise to make an effort to have something really wonderful to put up here this week.
7 Whole Months
Our sweet child is seven months old today. Rabun has become obsessed with screens over the past few weeks. I thought you might like to see how it looks when she spots one and goes into “attack mode.” In this sequence, she is on a mission to see how my MacBook would taste.
One Whole Month!
It is crazy to think that it has been a whole month since our sweet girl arrived, it seems like just last week honestly. Rabun has been such an awesome little munchkin since the day she was born.
During her first month, Rabun went through three big boxes of diapers, countless changes of clothes, and a few big packs of baby wipes. Despite all of those things,
Baby Shower
A friend of mine just emailed this picture to me of my mom and I at the church shower. As you can see, I am getting big! Just a matter of weeks to go!
Just a Wash
I just called one of the new local pet shops to see how much they would charge to wash our two pointers. The more pregnant I feel the less I want to wash our dogs. I usually get my little brother Jordan to do it pretty cheap, but thought I would look for other venues just in case he can’t get to it over the next few days. When the gentleman answered I explained that all I needed was a simple wash, nothing fancy. After consulting with one of his co-workers, he gets back on the line to tell me what he found out. I would not be overly shocked to hear $20 per dog. Oh no. That is not the case. He tells me it will be $45 per dog. Honestly, $45? Yeah right. I don’t think so. My hair doesn’t cost that much to get washed, cut, and styled! Needless to say, I will be giving my official dog washer, Jordan, a call this afternoon when he gets out of school.
Baby Laundry
Yesterday evening I did my first load of laundry just for the baby. What an odd feeling! Honestly, there were a couple of articles of clothing I wasn’t exactly sure which way was best to fold, but the way I see it is if that is the biggest problem I have, our sweet baby is going to have it made!
Babe’s Muddy Adventures
Just yesterday it took Babe quite a bit longer than usual to come back up to the house after we let them out of their pen. When she returned her face as well as her feet with a lovely red coat of clay on them. Perfect.
Bedding for Baby
Dan and I have purchased our first “big” baby thing. We are excited to say that we are the proud buyers of a nine piece set of bumble bee bedding for our sweet child due July 1. I have really been looking a lot lately and have just been dissatisfied, but I saw this last night on e-bay and absolutely love it.
We didn’t get every frilly piece you see in the picture, that would be a little overwhelming in my opinion. The set we purchased includes all of the bedding, dust ruffle, diaper stacker, toy hanger and the throw pillow. We opted not to go for the three wall hangings, mobile, lamp, and book.
This was my first bidding experience on e-bay and I can honestly say I did NOT enjoy it. It made me so mad that people jumped in there at the very end. Dan had set it up to where we had a limit and it would automatically update to a certain price, but it still drove me nuts.
