A Lot
Dan, Rabun, and I have had a crazy, yet wonderful past week. We have been up to Tennessee and back to visit Jim, Stephanie, Jake, Judd, and Anna Kate. It was an absolute blast to visit and see their home, we truly enjoyed our stay. Afterward we spent one night at home and went to the Christmas Dinner at church. Then we went up to the lake the next day to meet up Jason and Stacy as well as their ten month old Chase. Congrats on the new addition to come you guys! (She is due with baby number two on July 20th!) Today was busy at Nanabud’s. Mrs. Mary’s sisters and their families came for a Ruff family gathering at lunch. It was also Mr. Sonny’s Birthday…Happy Birthday Big Buddy! Mid-afternoon we headed to my parents house in Perry for my Grandpa Celentano’s 77th Birthday Party….Happy Birthday Grandpa! Just a few hours ago we arrived back home and I have been wrapping gifts getting ready for Christmas with my parents and siblings which is tomorrow. Whew…I love this time of year! It is crazy, hectic, and busy, but it is so awesome to have such an amazing family and incredible friends!
SIX MONTHS!
Our sweet baby is getting so old! Last week she weighed in at a whopping 13 pounds, six ounces. Rabun has begun propping herself up on her hands and knees, she will be crawling any day now. She loves to look at the Christmas tree with all of its bright lights and glittering ornaments. It is awesome to see her eyes light up when she looks around with avid curiosity at the world around her. She did great when we went to visit Santa, we were so proud. Christmas is going to be amazing!

Ridiculous
So I came across this article just moments ago, it is absolutely absurd. It basically says that due to the pollutants that livestock give off, farmers may have to pay a fine. The system would require farms or ranches with more than 25 dairy cows, 50 beef cattle, or 200 hogs to pay an annual fee of about $175 for each dairy cow, $87.50 per head of beef cattle, and $20 for each hog. You are talking about tens of thousands of dollars for some operations.
I completely understand that we should be concerned about the environment. At some point, however, you have to stand up and say, “YOU ARE CRAZY!” to certain environmental ideas. If we we are to continue down this path of levying a fee based upon flatulence, baked bean distributors are going to be in a world of hurt in a few years. Just a thought.
