Bedding for Baby
Dan and I have purchased our first “big” baby thing. We are excited to say that we are the proud buyers of a nine piece set of bumble bee bedding for our sweet child due July 1. I have really been looking a lot lately and have just been dissatisfied, but I saw this last night on e-bay and absolutely love it.
We didn’t get every frilly piece you see in the picture, that would be a little overwhelming in my opinion. The set we purchased includes all of the bedding, dust ruffle, diaper stacker, toy hanger and the throw pillow. We opted not to go for the three wall hangings, mobile, lamp, and book.
This was my first bidding experience on e-bay and I can honestly say I did NOT enjoy it. It made me so mad that people jumped in there at the very end. Dan had set it up to where we had a limit and it would automatically update to a certain price, but it still drove me nuts.
44.4%
I was an economics major in college for quite some time, so I really enjoy thinking about things in terms of numbers. Well, today marks the end of our fourth month of pregnancy and therefore I am 44.4% of the way through the nine months. Exciting stuff, right? Dan thinks I am a big dork for looking at it like this, but that is okay.
Elizabeth’s Dress
This is the first dress that I have ever made completely by myself. It is completely stitched by hand and I am quite proud of it. Elizabeth, Dan and I’s two year old niece, absolutely loves new clothes, this was a big hit with her. I decided to make one for her as well as Grace, one of our other nieces who is four. I can honestly say that I truly enjoyed having a “project” even if it does make me seem like a sixty five year old woman.
Every single stitch on the dress was done by hand. After completing the whole dress, however, she informs me that she probably would have done the straight line stitches with her machine. I love my grandma and really appreciate all of the tips she gave me while I was making the dress.
Babies…LOTS of Babies!
Some people say it is in the water, other people say it is in the air. I know Dan and I are in the newly wed/ young married couples category, so it should be no surprise that we have babies coming from every direction: ourselves, family, friends, and our church family. It is amazing!
This past Friday, we welcomed a new addition to the Perdue clan. Samuel Ervin Ghioto was born to Lara and Michael, he is too cool. Jim and Stephanie are expecting and due to deliver a little girl sometime around the middle of April. Dan and I are going to welcome our first around July 1st.
One of my best friends from UGA called this afternoon, Kathryn is eight weeks along and her husband Scott couldn’t be more thrilled. In town, Carrie and Jeremy are due August 10th, they are super excited. During our Sunday School class this morning, one of the couples announced that they were expecting their third. Within just our small group, there are four couples currently anticipating the arrival of a new bundle of joy.
Wow! I think that is enough for now, it is amazing how much God has blessed us as well as those around us!
Sweet, quiet Dan
Most people think that Dan is just super easy going and quiet. Little do they know. I had the most interesting encounter with my dear as he serenaded me last night with the song “Batter up, hear that call” from the movie A League of Their Own. I can honestly say that is the hardest I have laughed in quite some time!
