The Dancing ‘due

December 17, 2007 at 9:04 pm (Family, Life)

I went to the doctor earlier today not at all expecting for her to do a sonogram, but I was pleasantly surprised when she said that we would indeed be looking at the baby.  We have a sweet wiggly baby on our hands (or in my belly if you would like to get technical)!  It was super neat to see the baby’s tiny little arms just a moving.  Just a few weeks ago, our baby looked like a mini peanut on the monitor, but today it was squirming around big time.

The only sad part about it is that Daddy Dan didn’t get to see it!  Since we weren’t expecting the sonogram, my Mom went with me to my appointment while Dan was at a seminar in Milledgeville.    Mom was really tickled about being able to get a glimpse at Dan and I’s tiny miracle.

12 Weeks and Counting

December 16, 2007 at 6:16 pm (Family, Life)

Tomorrow we will be officially 12 weeks along with our first pregnancy.  It has certainly been interesting thus far, but it is my understanding that the first 13 weeks are the worse.  I hate to complain too much, it has honestly been just a few particular days that were completely terrible.  Dan has done a fantastic job of trying to make sure life goes as smooth as possible.  I guess the thing that is the hardest to deal with is the huge ups and downs when it comes to my emotions.  The other difficult part is not liking peanuts anymore!  If you know me well, you know that I am a very picky eater.  Peanut butter and jelly sandwiches were a very important part of my diet and now it makes me sick to even think about the possibility of having to eat one!  Crazy, crazy, crazy!

You know you are pregnant when…

December 6, 2007 at 8:46 am (Life, random thoughts)

  • Every question you ask your husband, his response is, “I don’t know sweetie, what would you like to do?”
  • There are more trips to the restroom within a day than there had been during an entire week.
  • You can listen to a sweet song into the car and burst into tears driving down the road.
  • One morning you wake up and it seems that all of your pants have magically shrunk during the middle of the night!
  • Commercials (especially the ones with very happy endings) leave you with tears streaming down your face.
  • Every day at around 2:30 you can feel your energy draining rapidly.
  • Basically anything can leave you in tears.

As you can tell from my list above, it has truly been a roller coaster ride of hormones. I understand that this is completely normal when you are expecting, but that doesn’t make me feel any better at times. I do however feel that I should mention how completely loving and supportive my husband has been, he rocks.
