Blinded!
Couldn’t think of a more appropriate blog title in this instance, no matter how cheesy. Dan and I have really been doing a lot to get the house all set up and fixed up. After careful consideration, we have had to prioritize our home projects due to the fact that there isn’t a money tree growing out back and we only have so much time. This weekend, we went to Lowe’s with our measurements in hand and picked up some blinds for the t.v. room. That may not sound like a huge accomplishment, but it really makes an amazing difference. Dan did an awesome job getting everything put up properly and it looks fantastic. He is so much better looking than Bob Villa any day of the week!
All Priced!
In the grain business, it is important to have customers that bring you grain so that you can in turn sell it. Sounds easy, right? At times, yes. Then there are other times, and NO is the answer. The way it is set up, when farmers bring their grain they can apply it to a contract in which they have agreed to a predetermined price, spot sell it when they bring it across the scales, or just price it later. The latter of the three choices gives the farmer the option to deliver his commodity to the bins and wait to see if the market will rise to a level that he deems as a good price for his operation. As a lot of people do, some like to procrastinate for a very long time in making the final pricing decision just to watch the market. I tell you all this because I try and work with farmers to decide when the right time is to make that decision.
I am excited to say that as of this morning, all of the wheat, corn, and soybeans in our bins have been priced by the farmers. That is great! Considering that up until this morning around 10:30 there was some soybeans from 2005 that had not been priced, I am absolutely elated that it has all been taken care of! It tells me that farmers are happy and they like the job we are doing keeping them informed about the market. Honestly, that is a fantastic feeling!
Found One!
Proof that we did indeed get married! It took me the longest time to hunt down a picture to post of our ceremony. I kid you not, I bet I called half a dozen people to see if anyone took any during the ceremony. Thanks to Uncle Denis for the great picture!
