Coming Together
Everything is going pretty well now. We have our minds made up about a lot as far as the wedding goes. Yesterday Mom and I met about various topics ranging from programs to invitations to the church set up to flowers. We, in my opinion, were able to get a lot done. At Belks we found some compotes for table centerpieces. They are really nice and I think will be just perfect. We were able to find 12 around the state, Dan's mom picked up 9 for me in Marrietta, that was very helpful. Later on we met with Lancaster's florist, I think that is the way we are going to go. Mrs. Rosemary, the owner, really had everything together. I am excited about the decisions we've made thus far, I think that we are on the right track!
Other Weddings
Dan and I are completely aware of the fact that other people are getting married this year. This may sound terrible, but it is good when we are able to get a first had look at another couple’s wedding to see what we really like or think should be avoided at all costs. My brother is getting married at 3:00 today. The rehearsal was last night, needless to say it was a bit more fun than what it should have been. If nothing else showed up, chaos did. We are now committed that no matter what, we will strive to have a very smooth running rehearsal with people in charge that know what should or should not happen. Too many chiefs and not enough indians is never a good situation to be in.
So it begins…
The church is booked, thanks to a very helpful friend that was diligent and patient as we looked at all options available. The photographer is booked, even if my parents do enjoy making the picture time more difficult than necessary. The dress is picked out, it is wonderful and only needs to be hemmed, no other alterations are necessary. We meet with the minister on Thursday. Sounds like a lot is done, right?
Not hardly. We have caterers to sort through, the tough decision between birdseed or bubbles to make, invitations to find to have printed, china to pick out, a florist to find and schedule, tablecloths to secure, wedding bands to decide on, invitation lists to do, save the date cards to send (for out of state family/friends) etc., etc.
No, I am not having a melt down just yet, everything has really gone well. The thing that matters most is that Dan and I love each other and look forward to spending the rest of our lives together!
Nearly Wed/ Newly Wed
Dan and I are “nearly weds” I guess, or at least that is our official new label for Sunday School. Kind of fun, right? It is most assuredly better than having a “singles” title despite having dated for nearly four years. Being engaged has so many wonderful perks!
On the wedding front, I am meeting with my parents and the photographer this afternoon. That should prove to be very informative. I called around for florists as well as invitation printers, it seems that nothing can be done with anything unless you have a sit down meeting. That will be fun, right? Oh, I surely hope so!
